Runners from Brunswick High School and Glynn Academy who demonstrated quality academic performance, proven leadership and a demonstrated sincere commitment to community service are awarded $1000 scholarship from the Golden Isles Track Club. PLUS GITC supports the Brunswick High and Glynn Academy Cross Country Team by donating track shoes donations. Brunswick High School's Coach Dustin Carpenter said "I cannot stress to you how much I and the team thank you for the shoes. When I gave the shoes to the varsity runners before the region meet I was amazed at how excited they were."
Our commitment to helping children does not stop there. We also provide funds to the Brunswick Blazers.

Children with incurable illnesses get Racing Medals
Medals4Mettle (M4M) is a non-profit organization founded in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2005. Its mission is to celebrate and reward the individual and collective courage of all human beings by facilitating the gifting of marathon finisher’s medals from marathoners to people who have demonstrated similar mettle, or courage. The recipients can be any age and might have exhibited such mettle by dealing with disease, handicaps or any similar challenge. Runners give their medals to Medals4Mettle then M4M's nationwide network of physicians and others award these medals to those who might not be able to run a marathon, but are in their own marathon to continue to live their life. Shelly says "The children feel as if they had won the medals themselves and wore them proudly." GITC has provided medals from the Disney Marathon and the Boston Marathon, alongside surfing medals and sand-dollar shaped medals from a Tybee Island Marathon.
